About MSMU

Who We Are and Our Journey at Maseno University

Our Identity

The Messianic Students of Maseno University (MSMU) Family is a fellowship of students who believe in Yahshua as the promised Messiah while embracing the Jewish roots of our faith. We were established in 2016 to provide a spiritual home for students seeking to worship in a Messianic context. We house all Messianic brethren from all Messianic backgrounds in and around Maseno University. MSMU Family is affiliated with Western Messianic Students Association (WEMSA), a Messianic students organization in Western Kenya, under Messianic Students Association of Kenya (MSAK), which is the national Messianic students organization.

What Does "Messianic" Mean?

We are Jewish and non-Jewish believers united in Messiah Yahshua. We celebrate the fullness of Elohim's revelation: the instructions given to Israel and the redemption through Yahshua the Messiah. We're part of the global Messianic movement that recognizes Yahshua as the fulfillment of biblical prophecy.

Frequently Asked Questions

Not at all! MSMU is open to all students who are interested in learning about the Messianic faith and worshiping Yahshua in truth and in spirit. We house both Jewish and non-Jewish members.

While we share a common day of worship, MSMU uses only the Bible as the source of our doctrine unlike the SDA who refer to other sources like the teaching of Mrs E. White hence there is a great difference between our doctrines.

Members are welcome to use any translation they prefer. We often reference Hebrew and Greek meanings during study.

Yahshua is the original Hebrew name of the Messiah. Using the Hebrew name emphasizes his Jewish identity and connects him directly to the prophecies in the Tanakh (Old Testament). It helps bridge the cultural gap that has historically existed between the Jewish people and the "Church".
